CançonSongs is a collection of three discs dedicated entirely and exclusively to current Catalan lyrical song. The aim is to offer the listener a small sample of pieces for voice and piano written in recent years by some of the most relevant composers in Catalonia and recorded by a selection of the best performers on the current Catalan music scene.

"El Bestiolari" by Albert Guinovart is composed on the poems of the same title by Miquel Desclot.
Commissioned in 2009 by the Cor Infantil Amics de la Unió directed by Josep Vila, the recording also includes a DVD of the concert that took place at the Barcelona Auditorium on November 14, 2009 with the actor Jordi Vidal reading the poems.
