The CD Sardanas por el Mundo, which will be remembered as the first album of the Sinfònica de Cobla i Corda group of Catalonia and the only one of its kind, was recorded at the Girona Auditorium during the first fortnight of July 2008.
It includes the first sardana composed by Albert Guinovart, entitled "Sirenes" and directed by Francisco Cassú. The sardana is considered the national dance of Catalonia with a set of eleven instruments, almost all of them wind, called cobla.

The work on this CD has been written to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the musical Cantània at L'Auditori de Barcelona. Before the cantata "Arion i el Dolfí" there is a small text interpreted by three actors who draw a family situation celebrating the 10 years of the daughter, who is called Cantània.
The composition of "Arion i el Dolfí" was specially commissioned for this project to the writer David Nel·lo and Albert Guinovart.

This scenic Cantata created by Albert Guinovart on behalf of the Vivaldi Choir, has become a classic of the Christmas season. Performed for three years in a row at the Liceo Theater, this recording made with the original insturmentation, with a quintet accompanied by the voices of the choir led by Oscar Boada. At this concert Albert Guinovart premiered the work "La Vida Secreta" (orchestral version of the Sonata for piano for four hands), as well as the orchestral arrangements created from the "Cançons de Carrer" by Enric Morera, sung by Rosa Mateu. Complete the CD, Tchaikovsky's "Mozartian Suite".

Recording of Albert Guinovart's first collaboration with a Cobla (musical group, mostly wind, native to Catalonia).
The Cobla Mediterrània group, directed by Jesús Ventura, recorded B. Castillejos' version of the "Rhapsody in Blue" by the American composer George Gershwin with Guinovart as soloist. He also takes part in his celebrated "Concierto sobre temas de Mar i Cel", and in Manuel Oltra's "Rapsodia para piano y cobla", which he directed especially for the occasion.
